Happy New Year!
In the spirit of celebrating our lovely community, CAROLINA will start a recurrent, acoustic music event at the Novato shop location. This Acoustic Concert Series will feature an in-store performance by local and national musicians. On the evening of the show, the boutique will be transformed into an intimate venue where we can gather and listen to world-class music from a variety of artists and styles. Attendees will be invited in to hear the music, shop the beautiful merchandise and enjoy snacks and drinks.
Acoustic Concert Series #1- Friday, January 22nd. Doors at 6pm | Show at 7pm
This show will feature the acoustic duo of Greg Loiacono and Grahame Lesh. Greg and Grahame will accompany each other on their own, original songs and on some of their favorite cover songs.
Greg Loiacono is not only Carolina's husband but a musician based out of Marin County, California. He is a founding member of the seminal California rock band, The Mother Hips. Greg plays guitar, sings and writes songs for The Hips, Sensations ( his solo project that features a rotating cast of California's elite bassists and drummers including Scott Thunes, Paul Hoaglin, Reed Mathis, Todd Roper and David Brogan) and Ball Point Birds (an acoustic duo) that he created with his musical brother, Tim Bluhm.
When Greg is not on the road, writing, recording or sitting in with friends around town, he brings a customized, music group into Bay Area treatment Centers to help addicts recover from addiction and psychological disorders.
Grahame Lesh: Based in the musical hotbed of Marin County, California, Grahame Lesh is a singer-songwriter and guitar player for Midnight North, Communion, & the Terrapin Family Band, as well as a regular member of his father's band Phil Lesh & Friends. A mainstay in the scene centered around Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, Grahame has joined such luminaries as Chris Robinson, Scott Law, Jason Crosby, Neal Casal, ALO, The Mother Hips, and many more in singing, playing, and interpreting the American songbook.
As a founder and frontperson for Midnight North, Grahame has played hundreds of concerts around the country and released 2 albums and a digital EP of original music since the band's inception in 2012. As a member of the Terrapin Family Band & Communion, he has traveled the world, performing at the famed Fuji Rock Festival in Japan as well as in London, New York, and Washington DC. Always focused on the song and the groove, whether it be his or another's, Grahame's music stays rooted in the present while touching on all aspects of rock, folk, blues, soul, and more.
